Typhoon Rolly in Nueva Ecija
Gabaldon,
Nueva Ecija - As of November 1, Sunday morning, typhoon Rolly is no longer a
super typhoon. However, signal Nos. 1 to
4 remain raised and torrential rain is still expected. Other parts of Nueva Ecija
was lowered to storm signal no. 1 but small part of its southern portion remained
under storm signal no. 2 including the municipality of Gabaldon.
The local government of Gabaldon
conducted a desiltation in preparation for typhoon Rolly together with the Provincial
Government of Nueva Ecija (PGNE), Dupinga Mini Hydroelectric Corporation (DMHC)
and other private companies.

Eighty – four (84) indigenous people families were preemptively
evacuated due to a landslide that affected the Dupinga River. The Dumagats were
then brought to a Methodist Church in Barangay Malinao as Mayor Jobby Emata
mentioned. The Indigenous people
families would be staying in the place until threats brought about by typhoon
Rolly is over.
Upon the directive of Governor Umali, the chair of Provincial Disaster
Risk’s Reduction and Management Council, the families were provided food assistance.
Each family received a family relief pack which includes a twenty- five kilo
sack of Malasakit Rice which was bought by the provincial government from local
farmers as said by Mr. Jojo Daniel, the officer in charge (OIC) of the
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

As of eight
o’clock in the evening, typhoon Rolly was out of the Philippine landmass and at
the West Philippine Sea according to the weather bulletin of Department of
Science and Technology – PAGASA. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal were removed in
the province of Nueva Ecija however, the local government still advised the
public to be alert and keep on the monitoring of the rain brought about the
circulation of typhoon Rolly.
With this,
the local government of Gabaldon is grateful for the cooperation of its people
to keep everyone safe from the disaster.
The
suspension of work will remain on November 2 to 3, 2020 to allow for the repair
of damaged property or the cleaning of their own yards due to the recent
Typhoon Rolly.
